Dental Hygienist – Fort Worth, TX

GLC Government Services is seeking a Dental Hygienist to work a government contract at a Federal Correctional Facility in Bastrop, TX for adult male inmates in custody.

Facility: Health Services Department. Federal Correctional Institution, Bastrop, TX.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hrs. week, between 7:30am-4pm, 30-min. unpaid lunch. (Excluding Federal Holidays)

Pay Rate: $53.59

Qualifications:

-Must be certified/licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of Texas.
-Dental radiology certification required. Anesthesia certification preferred but not required.
-A minimum of 3 years’ experience is preferred but not required.
-BLS certified through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
-Must be able to work with inmates from a variety of cultural, regional, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.

Scope of Work: (but not limited to)

-Provide dental prophylaxis, other preventive oral health services, and other periodontal services on AIC
-Provide thorough individualized oral hygiene instructions to each patient
-Monitor oral hygiene and periodontal condition on each patient seen for dental prophylaxis
-Complete necessary dental X-rays as specified by the dentist
-Provide suture removal, administration of local anesthetic, and other services (if trained)
-Sterilize instruments used for prophylaxis and other instruments as specified by the dental staff
-Oversee AIC health service’s workers’ housekeeping and infection control procedures
-Perform necessary paperwork related to scheduling patients for dental prophylaxis
-Track scheduling of patient care
-Collect and track data and enter data into the agency’s electronic system

· Must have knowledge and experience in maintaining medical records and confidentiality
-Any other reasonable tasks needed by the health services unit, or assigned by supervisory staff
-Knowledgeable of and follows BOP, Dental Service, and policies including but not limited to the Employee Standards of Conduct, security, infection control, regulated waste management, and data management
-Long periods of standing, walking, sitting, and bending are required.
-Occasionally, the contractor will be required to lift boxes and equipment not exceed 35 pounds
